On October 28, 2025, in Hall 13 of the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, the atmosphere was tense yet lively. The 9th “Quick Cup” National Electronic Manufacturing Industry Welding Skills Competition – Guangdong Regional Contest was in full swing. Employees Li Qiufang and Hu Xuehua from Tortai Technologies Co., Ltd. competed against 48 contestants from 18 enterprises including ZTE Corporation, Guangdong Yino Communication, and Shenzhen Furui Zhongnuo Communication.
This competition, organized by institutions such as the Electronic Manufacturing Industry Alliance and the Shenzhen Workers’ Education and Vocational Training Association, was not only a contest of skills but also a of the spirit of craftsmanship.

1、Competition Specifications: A High-Level Skill Competition Platform
The “Quick Cup” welding competition has always been regarded as a major event in the electronics manufacturing industry. This year’s competition is jointly held with the 2025 11th “Shenzhen Good Technician” series of competitions, with the electronic welding project competition. The scale and the wide range of participants are unprecedented in history.
The competition is jointly organized by authoritative institutions such as the Electronic Manufacturing Industry Alliance and the Shenzhen Workers’ Education and Vocational Training Association. The organizing work is undertaken by professional organizations such as the SMT Committee of the Guangdong Electronics Society and the Shenzhen Terminal Electronic Manufacturing Industry Association. The evaluation criteria refer to multiple national and industry standards, comprehensively assessing the contestants’ operational norms, welding quality, and safety literacy.
The competition venue is located at the Asian Electronic Equipment and Microelectronics Industry Exhibition, and it is held simultaneously with the display of cutting-edge industry technologies, allowing the contestants to not only compete but also stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological developments.

2、Contestant Profile: Key technical personnel of Tortai Technologies
The two technical experts dispatched by Tortai Technologies Co., Ltd. – Li Qiufang and Hu Xuehua – were assigned to compete in the first and second groups respectively.
According to the event schedule, the first group competition began at 9:20 a.m., and Li Qiufang entered the venue along with the other 14 contestants in her group. During the 70-minute competition, she needed to concentrate fully to complete all welding tasks. The second group competition started at 10:40 a.m., and Hu Xuehua also faced a challenging situation.

Manual welding is a fundamental skill in the field of electronic manufacturing, but it is also an important criterion for evaluating the skills of technicians. In microelectronic welding, the quality of the solder joints directly affects the reliability and lifespan of the products, and requires extremely high standards for the stability of the technician’s hands, concentration, and technical understanding.
Li Qiufang and Hu Xuehua, as key production department personnel of Tortai Technologies, have accumulated rich welding experience in their daily work. However, participating in such a large-scale and high-standard competition is both a test and a valuable learning opportunity for them.

3、Competition Venue: A Dual Battle of Precision and Speed
At the competition site, each contestant is provided with uniform welding equipment and parts to be processed. They need to complete a series of welding tasks within the stipulated time. Each weld point is scrutinized by the judges with great care.
The welding competition fully follows the rules of the World Skills Competition and sets multiple core modules to comprehensively test the contestants’ technical proficiency and practical ability. In the welding competition of the electronic manufacturing industry, contestants not only need to complete the welding tasks but also undergo comprehensive evaluations in aspects such as welding preparation, operation norms, quality control, and safety awareness.
Just like the welding competition of the Guangdong Provincial Vocational Skills Competition, the competition includes modules such as carbon steel components, carbon steel pressure vessels, and stainless steel assemblies, testing the contestants’ mastery of various welding techniques. After welding, the works need to undergo strict evaluations such as appearance inspection, and the requirements for comprehensive skills are extremely high. Contestants not only demonstrate their superb skills but also showcase their professional qualities of concentration and patience.

4、Promoting Learning through Competitions: An Important Way to Enhance Skills
Participating in large-scale events like “Quick Cup” is a valuable growth opportunity for Tortai Technologies and its technical staff. We are grateful for the conference’s provision of the chance to compete with outstanding peers, allowing colleagues to learn advanced experiences from them and making significant progress.
The significance of the competition goes beyond winning or losing. By participating in top industry events, technical staff can broaden their horizons, understand the latest technologies and standards in the industry, exchange experiences with peers, and identify their own shortcomings.
For Tortai Technologies, sending employees to participate in competitions is an indication of the company’s emphasis on skill talent cultivation, as well as a display of the company’s technical accumulation and confidence. Through the competitions, not only does it enhance the skills of the participating employees, but it also promotes the technical atmosphere of the entire enterprise.

5、Craftsmanship Spirit: The Legacy and Future of the Manufacturing Industry
“The Quick Cup Welding Competition is not merely a competition; it is a platform for showcasing the craftsmanship spirit. The concept advocated by the competition, ‘Dreaming China, Craftsmanship Spirit’, perfectly aligns with the urgent need for highly skilled talents in the current manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.
In recent years, from the Guangdong Province Vocational Skills Competition to various industry skills competitions, the craftsmanship spirit has been continuously promoted, providing talent support for the high-quality development of the industry. These events have ignited the enthusiasm of skilled workers to delve into technology and enhance their skills.
Technicians like Li Qiufang and Hu Xuehua are the cornerstone of the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. Their professional skills and dedication spirit embody the inheritance of the craftsmanship spirit.

As manufacturing industry moves towards high-end and intelligent development, the requirements for skilled talents are increasing. Not only do they need operational skills, but they also need to understand the principles of the process and possess an innovative mindset.
Competitions such as ‘Quick Cup’ within the industry provide a stage for front-line technical workers to showcase their skills and set quality benchmarks for the entire industry.
In the future, we hope to see more enterprises like Tortai Technologies, daring to send their employees to go out and showcase their skills on a broader stage, learning from advanced practices and jointly promoting industry progress.
